Friday: Hanging Out at Home...well, mostly...

Today I mostly planned to stay at home... stop spending money.... rest.... clean...etc. I did take Morgan to see Dr. L today. She had a small spot on her eye that I wanted him to look at. He removed it, no problem! Daniel and Morgan went to the pool to hang out with friends. After I watched my precious soap opera, the girls were still awake. We headed to the other Kohl's to look for dresses for their 4 year old pictures. I had seen a really nice one in the first Kohl's, but it was the wrong size. I ended up finding a different dress that is cute too! I also bought two little pairs of slip on summer tennis shoes 2 for $17.99. The girls wear sandals all summer. However with our new geocaching hobby, they need to have their toes covered. We went through the Wendy's drive-thru and had a Frosty. So do tell.... why do they call ice cream a Frosty???? I told the girls that Wendy's was just trying to be fancy. :-)

Aunt Phyllis, Aunt Carol, and Jasmine sent Kelsey and Rachel a tea party set. So I will leave you with some pictures.

BTW my voice still crackles. It was getting better. Guess I need to be quiet and let

it heal. I know my rambling can be boring,

but please stop by this blog again or sign up for a subscription so you know

 when I update.

Here is a link to a family thatis in quarantine in China. They went to get their

little one and sat next to someone on a plane. They should leave the

quarantine tomorrow! Here is another interesting blog, the family asked to be

referred a healthy girl or twins. They received

a wonderful referral for healthy twin boys- surprise! They are very excited.

Just one of those interesting blogs out there. Maybe

someday I will post about my blog reader. That is how I follow so many blogs,

they all come to me in one reader.

The world seems to now be Facebooking. I love Facebook! I have met up with

so many old friends online. I am giving my blog a try

though, so I know if it is worth it. If you are out there reading this,

leave me a comment and let me know you are here!!!!

(I know the spacing is messed up on this bottom part. I don't know why.)

Thursday: A day of no pictures

Ok... I have to admit, I am slowing down a bit. No pictures that I know of, unless there is some on my cell that I forgot to download. The girls went to the dentist for their first official cleaning. Before they went to the dentist for "happy visits." Those are visits where they sit in the chair, learn about the instruments, and have their teeth counted. Really it is just a visit that they don't charge for to get them used to the dentist and having things in their mouths. We went twice before. This time we had a real visit with real cleaning and fluoride! Rachel wanted to go first. Morgan is our support system so she, Rachel, and I trooped into the office. Daniel stayed in the lobby with Kelsey. (He asks....why does it take 5 of us to go to the dentist?} Rachel was having nothing to do with it, so we traded kids. Kelsey is usually our shy kiddo. She came right in and had her teeth cleaned. She was very impressed by the cartoons playing on the ceiling. Towards the end of the visit, Daniel got Rachel to come back to the chair. She did it too! Yeah! The best thing is hearing Daniel and Morgan say, "we are so proud of you. We can't believe you did so well!" It makes me proud of my big kids when they take such delight in their little sisters growth. So cute....mom moment!

After the dentist, Daniel went home. The three girls and I surprised Daddy at work to tell him about the dentist. We went out for a quick Mexican lunch. After naps, (my nap, girls talking in their room behind the gate that I still put up), we went to the neighborhood pool. They LOVED it! All 4 kids had fun. Rachel was talking nonstop. The lifeguards were smiling as they listened to her talk and talk and talk.

Wednesday June 24th

Tammy always asks why I have so many pictures of the little ones and not Daniel and Morgan. Well, Daniel and Morgan hide whenever the camera comes out! I will post more of them as I get them.

Today the three girls and I went geocaching in Poquoson. It was hot outside, so we only found 2 and called it quits. I will have to do a longer post on geocaching someday. We really enjoy it! We heard about it while following John and Amy's blog. They are friends from our Hampton Roads Families with Children from China group (and playgroup)! They kept mentioning geocaching, so one day I finally looked it up and we are hooked! They even met us for breakfast one Sunday in May to teach us. Thanks guys! I am going to start tagging all blog entries that have to do with geocaching. So if you want to know more, click on the link on the left hand side of this blog.

After geocaching, we went to Kohl's. The girls only have one swim suit each that fits them. My mom says we have lots of pool pictures....well that's because we live in Virginia and we swim all the time! With the pool at the house, pool at Pat's, and the neighborhood pool, I decided we couldn't live with just one suit. The girls wanted a two piece suit like Morgan's. We found a little suit that was a one piece with an add on skirt. No way, Kelsey was having none of that! I said, "It is a 2 piece suit. See 1, 2." She said that wasn't a two piece suit-- you couldn't see her belly! All the other two piece suits seemed to have the little triangle shaped teenager looking tops. Well, I am not putting that on my 4 year olds. After much searching, we came up with these suits. They were happy with them and I was happy because they were covered and were not looking like teens!

Oops! I forgot... in between Kohl's and Geocaching I took Daniel to the doctor's. That was a funny appointment!! Daniel has always complained about his joints needing to crack etc. 2 other doctor's told us in was growing pains. Well... he still complains... he had blood work when he had the tick bite in April and there was no inflamation and no lyme. So, I take him in. The doc is going to some x-rays...but are you ready for this!!.... 2 of his problems can be fixed.... he has bad posture....like from playing too many games. LOL!!! He also told him the reason his knee cap moved in a certain way is cause he has weak muscles in his quads. LOL!!!! .... so I am pretty sure the doctor was saying... stop playing video and computer games and go out and play/exercise! LOL!! I laughed so hard. :-) I will take him for the x-rays just to be sure, but even Daniel grinned at the doc.

Daniel had an orthodontist appointment at 4. He drove himself, so that was good! As I run around like a crazy person, I wonder how do I have a full time job?

Tuesday

Wow! So far, I am actually keeping track of my summer! Impressive, huh? It is kind of like an online journal with pictures for our relatives.

Today we went to story hour at the library. No pictures. The girls enjoy story hour. During the school year we go on Thursday nights, but over the summer I can do the summer time story hour. Rachel was quite shy since it was a different group of people. She is funny though. She plays Miss Marty at home by making us all sit in front of her while she reads a story and asks us questions. LOL! It is very cute~
Rachel decided that she would swim with no lifejacket on today. She really did it! Just took off and swam. Of course, she can still touch, but I was surprised that she could get in the prone position for a bit! Kelsey also tried it and was thrilled that she could daintily tiptoe around the pool. She smiled the whole time. That is our Kelsey. (I got a video of Rachel starting to swim, I will upload it sometime. :-)

Go Rachel! Look at her go!

Tiptoe Girl!

Monday: Hitting the Ground Running...

Today was quite a whirl-wind day! Our sitter babysits 8-10 days out of the summer. This was one of those days. I had so much to do and they love to go to Debbie's! So here is how my day went....

* Took girls to Debbie's
* Waited outside of Tropical Smoothie while Morgan had her interview. It was hot! She did get the job and starts training on July 19th!
* Had the car inspected (This was overdue and was due back in May!)
* Ran Errands: Bank, County Office to pay a bill, School board office to update insurance info for next year
* Morgan and I met some of my 4th grade buddies for lunch. Brenda...Kathy.... and Lisa..... poor Pearl.... I mean Pat was at the doctor's.
* Came home and took a NAP!
* Picked up girls.
* Girls went in the pool with Chuck and the big kids
* Chuck and I went to the movies!!! It was the first time in over a year with no kids! We saw The Proposal with Sandra Bullock. It was very funny! (Daniel watched Kelsey and Rachel. Morgan was at a friend's house.)

So....how was that for the first day of "vacation"? (Oh, I forgot to say that Aunt Beth and Brad left before 7 AM this morning. :-(

This is not the best picture, but you can see everyone in the pool. Except for me... that's why I hold the camera! Do pics of me!!! LOL!!

June 21st More Pictures!

Even Mommy went out for a bit of geocaching early this morning while it was still only 85 degrees out! We found 2 caches and headed for home and the pool. We do have a neighborhood pool, but we like our own too! Mom laid down and the girls played with Daddy, Aunt Beth, and Brad.
Daniel and Morgan come home from Maryland today! Beth and Brad head back to NY tomorrow morning. :-)

As I said in a previous post, my goal is to updated the blog often over the summer!

June 20th: Hot Outside!

It was over 100 degrees outside! We decided to set up a small 3 foot pool in our yard! These pictures are of the setup. Aunt Beth got in to smooth out the wrinkles in the bottom. The girls were so excited. (The big kids are in Maryland for the weekend. They will be happy when they get home!)

June 19th

Wow! Has summer vacation started yet? Hmmm... I took the day off on the 17th for Daniel's graduation. (actually I made up the time). Yesterday (June 18th) was the party. No pictures for Friday, June 19th. Today is the day that I had my surgery. The big kids were in Maryland and all the family had left except for Beth and Brad. They watched the girls while Chuck went with me. I had two nodules and a cyst removed. I am suppose to be whispering and laying low for awhile. :-)

Grad Family Party June 18th

4 Families got together and hosted a casual party in the Evans' backyard. The 4 boys have known each other for a very long time, so it just made sense to have the families come together. (Rachel the 5th graduate is a friend of Brad's. She was in the prom pictures.) The families and any relatives that were still in town gathered for the party.
(Don't worry, they had plenty of kid type celebrations... going to parties the weekend before and the weekend afterwards...)

Lunch After Graduation June 17th... continued...

We had lunch at Season's in Williamsburg with Daniel's friend Jared and his family. Also there were Chuck and myself, Morgan, PopPop and Barbara, Grandma and Grandpa Jack, Brad and Beth, John and Cat, and Nana and Silly Grandpa. We had a full house! The box Daniel opened was his time capsule from 3rd grade... more on that in a later post!

June 17, 2009

My baby graduated from high school! What a moment. :-)   More pictures to come when I get a chance. I know most have you have already seen them on Facebook. :-)
